Loyalty

Loyalty....

Many claim it. Many suffer from it. Let's Discuss It.

By definition it's clear what loyalty is but in today's society there's a parade of interpretations.

I think the state of loyalty as a whole is diminishing. In particular loyalty to others. May it be a person, a job, an organization, etc. However, loyalty to self is far more a common thing.

Ironically we cry out for loyalty from others but we are trained to "look out for self" or "never put your own happiness before others" and so on. So how can we expect loyalty when subconsciously we will put our own well being before the next. Ideally loyalty should be reciprocated, and there should be an equally balanced exchange. That is what solidifies relationships and makes them everlasting.

Those few selfless people understand this, and know that sacrifice is synonymous with loyalty. Because loyalty requires compromise, and sacrifice, and ultimately selflessness. I believe if us as individuals could grasp this; relationships would be stronger, and last longer.

Loyalty is a powerful thing....it can make or break any type of relationship.

Where does your loyalty lie?

Whose loyalty lies with you?
